DM50/DM55 (K721)

Performing rate updates on the DM50-DM60

Learn how to perform rate updates on the DM50, DM55 (K721) and DM60 (K722).

Rate Update Instructions:

  1. Make sure that your system is connected via SmartLink™, Pitney Bowes Communication Device, PC Meter Connect, or via analogue phone line, in order to communicate with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.
  2. At the main screen (Date on display) press the Funds key.
  3. Use the Review (Down) arrow key to scroll to “Check balance available?”
  4. Press the Enter/Yes key.
  5. The franking machine will automatically connect to the PB Infrastructure.
  6. Once the meter has connected it will show Checking PBP Account Balances. The franking machine then shows Prepaid £xx.xx (the balance of your PBP account).
  7. Press the Enter/Yes key to continue.
  8. The franking machine then asks if you wish to Refill Postage. Press the No key to continue. At this point, if the franking machine returns to the home screen, it is likely that the new rates have already downloaded. Please check the Rate Confirmation Tool.
  9. The franking machine will check for updates and display SYSTEM UPDATE REQUIRED – Please Wait.
  10. Press the Enter/Yes key and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the new rates.
  11. Once completed the display will read Download complete Continue – press enter. Press the Enter/Yes key.
  12. The display will then show During the call: Rate data installed.
  13. Press the Enter/Yes key.
  14. You will be asked Do you want to print a download report?. If you wish to print a report for confirmation, press Yes. Otherwise press No.
  15. The franking machine will then return to the main screen. The new rates are now installed.
